Asus 8z to take on iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, check price and specs on launch

Asus has finally unveiled the ‘compact’ 8z smartphone today in India. With the new addition to the Zenfone smartphone series, Asus seems to be targeting both the Mini versions i.e, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini audience but is actually taking on iPhone 11, xiaomi 11t pro, iqoo 9 audience, who are looking for a highly compact smartphone with top-tier features. Asus 8z falls in the same price range as iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 mini. These include a Snapdragon 888 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, along with 4,000 mAh battery. Dinesh Sharma, Business Head, Commercial PC and Smartphone, System Business Group, Asus India said, “Our latest flagship Asus 8Z is the ultimate compact android flagship, an ideal choice for the customers who lead an active lifestyle and are always on the go. The Asus 8z packs features like AMOLED display 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection backed up by 1100 nits of brightness. The smartphone comes with a 12MP Sony IMX663 selfie camera and dual rear camera setup of 64MP Sony IMX686 main lens along with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The device features a display size of 8Z to 5.9 inch to make it a ‘compact’ smartphone. Asus 8z will be available in 8GB RAM and 128GB. Additionally, the phone gets a 4,000mAh battery with a 30W charger support and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset for a powerful performance

The device also has other miscellaneous features like IP68 water resistance, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C 2.0, Stereo speakers, Triple Mics, an In-display fingerprint reader, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NavIC (L5), and NFC.

The company has priced the Asus 8z at Rs. 42,999 for the 8+128GB variant in India. The device will be up for sale from March 7 at 12 PM onwards on Flipkart.com. One can grab it in Silver and Black colour options.
